By mid-spring, many gardeners find themselves wondering if their seedlings are truly ready. Some are growing quickly, others feel fragile, and it can be difficult to know what to do next. This stage is where confidence is built—or where many people give up.
This hands-on workshop is designed to help you care for young seedlings and guide them through the critical transition into stronger, established plants. You will learn how to properly “pot up” seedlings into larger containers, encourage healthy root development, and prepare your plants for life outdoors in Colorado’s challenging climate.
Whether you started seeds at home, attended our March workshop, or are beginning now, this class will give you the knowledge and practical experience to move forward with clarity.
During the workshop, you will personally pot up seedlings and learn techniques you can repeat throughout the season.
During this 2-hour workshop, you will learn:
• When and why seedlings need to be potted up
• How to handle young plants without damaging roots
• Soil and container selection for continued growth
• How to prevent transplant shock
• How to prepare seedlings for hardening off outdoors
You will take home:
• Four seedlings that you pot up yourself
• A laminated Shari Ann Farms seedling care workbook
• Garden supplies to support continued growth at home
Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.
At the end of the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase additional farm-grown seedlings ready for their spring gardens.
This workshop bridges the gap between starting seeds and planting your garden, helping ensure your efforts continue to grow into strong, productive plants.
Date: April 18, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Shari Ann Farms, Kiowa, Colorado
