Little Sprouts Garden Workshops
Third Friday of Every Month | 9:00–11:00 AM | $10 per child
Join us at Shari Ann Farms in Kiowa for a monthly children’s workshop designed to reconnect kids with nature, creativity, and the rhythms of the garden.
In a world that moves quickly and spends more time indoors, these mornings on the farm are meant to slow things down. Children will spend time exploring soil, seeds, plants, and natural materials while learning simple gardening concepts and creating seasonal projects.
Each gathering includes a hands-on activity, time outdoors on the farm, and opportunities for kids to use their imagination while working with flowers, plants, and natural elements. Our goal is to help children develop a love for nature, understand where food comes from, and learn to notice the beauty God placed in the natural world around them.
These mornings are relaxed, creative, and welcoming for families looking for meaningful outdoor experiences for their children.
APRIL Little Sprouts: Seed Starting on the Farm
Friday, April 17 | 9:00–11:00 AM | $10 per child
Join us for our April Little Sprouts gathering, where children will learn the magic of growing plants from seed.
This hands-on workshop introduces little ones to the very beginning of the gardening process. Each child will plant their own seeds to take home, learning how something so small can grow into the flowers and food we see all around us.
We will walk through the simple steps of seed starting in a way that is approachable and engaging for young children. They will get their hands in the soil, learn what seeds need to grow, and begin to understand the care and patience required to nurture life from the ground up.
As always, our morning will include time to explore the farm, creative outdoor play, and space for kids to be kids while learning in a natural environment.
Coming in May: Bug Day on the Farm
In May, we will turn our attention beneath the soil and into the small but mighty world of insects.
Children will experience the wonder of metamorphosis as we release butterflies together and learn how transformation happens in nature. We will then explore the role of worms in the garden and why these “creepy crawlies” are some of the most important workers in healthy soil.
Each child will create their own worm farm in a mason jar, giving them a window into what is happening below the surface of the earth. This hands-on project is designed to gently introduce the idea that even the smallest creatures play a powerful role in breaking down materials, enriching soil, and helping gardens thrive.
It is a day that turns curiosity into understanding and helps children see that what may seem messy or strange is actually part of something purposeful and life-giving.
